Day 13: Uluru and Kata Tjuta

This post continues the series on our two week roadtrip from Melbourne to Alice Springs and back during the July school holidays in 2015 (I'm determined to finish the series.)

An early morning wakeup to see the sunrise over Uluru. The kids stayed in bed and to be honest it wasn't a great sunrise, with clouds in all the wrong places.

The sun did set Kata Juta on fire in the distance. We were headed there after breakfast to do the Valley of the Winds Walk, a 7.4km circuit with two lookouts.

We had lunch then checked out the cultural centre, The Boy's expedition to climb was stymied by forecast rain that didn't eventuate. Pizza for dinner, and goodbye to our friends who were flying home the next day while we had an early start to hit the road back home.
