Gilead by Marilynne Robinson

GileadGilead by Marilynne Robinson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Written as a series of letters by John Ames, minister, to his young son and meant to be read after his death. Quiet, unassuming this novel weaves itself through the lives of three generations of preachers telling his son the things John thinks he might need to know when he's older. I loved the character of John Ames. It was refreshing to see the life of faith portrayed in a positive and realistic manner. Go read it.
