A happy boy ... he found ra-ra sitting in a pram in the shed. It had been missing for a few weeks.
Walking to school today The Boy asked me if the tooth fairy was real. I paused for a second and then decided honesty was the best policy and said no. He wanted to know what happens. I explained how mummy and daddy put the money out.
The Boy: So it's your pocket money?
Me: Yes.
The Boy: Why do you do it?
Me: Uumm, tradition? To make losing your teeth exciting and fun.
The Boy: Where do you keep my teeth?
Me: I throw them down the sink.
The Boy: That's mean, you should have asked me if you could do that.
Me: Well I couldn't, the tooth fairy was supposed to have taken them.
I asked him to keep it our secret and not tell the other kids (his sisters or his classmates)

Photo comp, yummy dinner and a cleaning man ... this week's P365
He got to play with bubblegum as long as he agreed to pose for me.
Reject from the photo shoot for brief #3 in the photo competition.
OK I posed her in the garden to set up a shot, but what a gorgeous day.
into a black hole ... not quite but this week I felt like I was sinking under the huge pile of ironing.
My boy was very taken with this man in fact he thought it was "awesome"
Family dinner at Jaques Raymond ... eagerly anticipated and we weren't disappointed.
A little table decoration picked by my girl.

What have I been up to?
There hasn't been much posting here lately, I haven't done much scrapping either. So what have I been up to? You can see a lot of what I've been up to represented by my P365. I've also been ...
Acquainting myself with my iPhone. I'm enjoying the hipstamatic app.
I have to admit I've probably also sunk a few hours in playing Bejewelled and Strategy.
We celebrated Little Girl's birthday and I made a Super Epic Rainbow Cake and iced it with this.

I've been reading a bit:
I've been cooking and have 3 more recipes to share as part of my 52 recipes series.
I've also been thinking a bit about how much of our family life I should write about on here. Big Girl is 11 now and I don't want to cause her embarrassment. She said I was mean for videoing her dance from her school concert and then doubly mean for showing the grandparents so I think you can understand how blogging could cause issues with her. I've decided the best course will be to get her permission to publish anything that specifically concerns her in the future.

I've been reading a bit:
- A well-written reminder that Christians do not look forward to an escape from the material. A common misunderstanding these days.
- I've finished four books.
- Little Girl and I finished reading Heidi together. She immediately took it to school to lend to her best friend so I think I can count that a success.

Mail, sea monkeys, swimming ... this week's P365
A letter in the mail from the boy.
SeaMonkeys ... second time around.
Killing time in the car while the boy has his piano lesson.
Her first day of squad.
Hoping the ceiling doesn't fall in before we knock the house down
My sister comes every second week for dinner on Sundays.

Beer Braised Beef With Onions
From HERE. As you can see I substituted veges for the butter soaked bread.
It was good and easy but I probably won't be making it again and I'm not even sure why ... maybe I just wasn't feeling like a great hunking bit of meat that night. It was fab on toast for lunch the next day though.

Camp, diving, tooth ... this week's P365
I put them in late. Hoping I get some beans.
He lost his second tooth at breakfast time.
Off on her first camp.
She finally got her wish and started diving lessons this term.
She got home from camp today, then we were out at Snowsports Presentation night to receive their medals.
Relaxing in the garden enjoying a book and the beautiful spring weather.
He leaves tonight for China.

Strawberry Oatmeal Bars
I haven't forgotten about my 52 recipes. Here's one and I've got a couple more on the way. These bars are really easy because the base and the topping are the same mix. The kids helped me make these and we followed the recipe except we used strawberry jam instead of raspberry jam. I used the food processor to do the mixing ... mainly because I'm lazy. I would recommend microwaving the jam as she suggested. We didn't and the base lifted up in one section as I was spreading the jam. It didn't seem to cause a problem with the finished product though so if it happens to you don't worry too much.
The verdict: An easy recipe and Little Girl and The Boy loved them. Big Girl didn't but she doesn't like oats.

Replay, birthday ... this week's P365
Big day for the birthday girl, pancake cake, lunch and shopping with Grandma and Grandad then her pick for dinner.
Late afternoon walk down to the beach.
Came home from Pt Lonsdale and the other kids could finally give the presents they brought for her.
A sore neck ... a sure sign of stress.
She's taken to hiding in various corners with her word search when she gets upset.
Finally a result, and in our favour. Meanwhile I missed it taking the others to Sean W. Smith and then Dinner Tonite.
Pool games, diving boards and tarzan rope done ... food done ... now time for cake.

Back again with not last week's P365
Did you miss me? With school holidays we've been busy with lots of different activities, including footy final, birthdays and holidays at the beach. I could bore you with the details but I'll let my P365 do the talking.
The kids offering money all ready to go but we forgot to take it. It'll have to wait until next week.
Trying to dry her mass of hair in front of the fire.
Cousins and second cousins enjoying a break and eating some cake.
Lots of bike riding, a walk on the beach, then back home to catch some lizards.
Hubby arrived down at Pt Lonsdale tonight with a surprise for me.
We couldn't believe after everything it ended up a draw and they would have to go back next week.
We took the opportunity to celebrate this week's 3 birthdays in one hit while we were all together.
