Paper Lanterns

Nyree brought these paper lanterns back with her from overseas and we sat down this afternoon and made them. They have a little globe inside. Don't know how long they'll last - being light weight card but Ethan is obsessed already with the light.

LOTD - My Life

I've had this layout half finished for a couple of months just waiting to get the opportunity to get the last few photos I needed. I finally decided on the weekend I had to finish it off. I'm really pleased with how it turned out and I got layout of the day at nuts4digi.com.

Scrapartists 2nd Birthday Bash

Scrapartist had their second birthday last weekend with heaps of chats, competitions and prizes. They gave out a gorgeous free kit to be used in some of the challenges. THey announced some new designers for their store. (Weeds and Wildflowers, Lauren Reid) My big news - I won prizes in two of the competitions. The first one was design a blinkie using their new logo and colours. I'd never done a blinkie before so it was a good opportunity to learn something new. It was actually much easier than I expected in PSE4 and I stuck with something fairly simple (below). So I won $20 voucher for the store - can't wait to go shopping.

The second prize was for a layout, what scrapartist means to me and the prize was - wait for it - a guest CT spot at scrapartist. I think I'm on in November - can't wait.

They also had a fun altered doll challenge which had some great entries - check out the gallery:

52 Scrapbooking Challenges #6-10

I posted previously about the 52 scrapbooking challenges at designsindigital.com and I've now finished the next five so here they are:

Challenge #6 Create a Ribbon ClusterRibbons are beautiful accents on a page - no matter what! Challenge yourself this week to create an accent with a cluster of ribbons! Just take two, three, four or more ribbons and cluster them together in the same area on your page.

Challenge #7 Its easy to capture photographs of family and events. But for this challenge, we want you to look through the lens of your camera as a photo enthusiast. Take a closer look at things in your life that otherwise walk on by. Look for beauty in unexpected places, inside and outside of your home.

Challenge #8 I love creating one photo layouts, but sometimes I have more than one photograph to feature on a page. I like to take four (or more) photographs and cluster them together in a group. This makes them appear almost as one large focal point but allows me to display more images at one time.

Challenge #9 Doodle on Photographs Dont be afraid to express yourself by doodling right on your photos! Try using some fonts or doodles in an open area of the photograph!

80's Party

We had a friend's 80's party. Went to the op shop and picked up some clothes, managed to pick up some sparkly fingerless gloves and put on as much jewellery as I could find. Geoff found a Indiana Jones Tshirt so he wore that. It was great fun checking out what everyone was wearing. A photo:
